Riley County Band

Specific Need

The goal of the Riley County Band is to support all members of the Riley County Bands. Funds raised will assist in providing resources, instruments, and travel opportunities to further musical experiences.

The 2026 RCHS Marching Falcons were selected to perform in the Alamo Bowl halftime show in San Antonio, TX in late December. We are one of eight bands that will be performing in a field show competion, then collaborating to create a 700+ student mass band that performs during halftime after the collegiate marching bands. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity as a high school musician. The total cost per student to participate is $1400 including travel, lodging, meals, and admission to the bowl game for the five day adventure. Donations will be directed to ten, $500 scholarships to help students cover this cost. Donations will also cover a special meal and adventure park for the entire band. Estimated cost: $4000.
Match Day donations will purchase a band t-shirt for all 200+ fith grade, sixth grade, middle school, and high school band students. These shirts will be worn with pride at the Mass Band concert in March and at a variety of other performances around our communities. Estimated cost: $2000.

Mission

The mission of the Riley County Band program is to support all students at Riley County Schools that wish to experience music through developing skills in band, and belonging to an organization of excellence and success.
